DORSET — "On the inside cover of the latest JK Adams catalog is a letter from the owner, Malcolm Cooper. In it, Cooper quotes Henry Ford: “You can take my factories, burn my buildings, but give me my people and I’ll build the business right back again.”
Ford's words mirror the story of JK Adams, recently honored by new Concurrent House Resolution R-331. The bill was passed in tribute to the 80th anniversary of Dorset’s largest employer.
Established by Josiah Knowles Adams in 1944, JK Adams has grown to be a name recognizable in quality home goods.
With a thriving e-commerce site and their own retail locations – the flagship store in Dorset, a shared location in Manchester Center, another store in Waterbury, and the Saratoga, NY satellite shop – as well as representation in premium retail kitchen stores throughout the United States, the company is continuing to grow.".....
"Aside from the numerous JK Adams employees who had gathered near Cooper on the front lawn were State Representative Mike Rice, Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas, Vermont Deputy Secretary of State Lauren Hibbert, and James McNerney, a field representative from the office of Senator Peter Welch."
